“I asked Jason to estimate the value of a large parcel of land in Colchester, CT, with options for possible development. Within two days I received an analysis of the likely, basic value along with options for subdivision that would likely increase the value, and the likely cost of those options. Jason spent time with me to ensure that I understood the trade-offs, and to be sure that he himself understood the lay of the land. He raised several useful points, including the presence of wetlands, the availability of town sewer systems, and the requirements for frontage and sight lines. He saw the potential in an adjacent paper road, and knew whom to ask at the Town for possible plans to extend or pave the road. In the end, I came away with exactly what I needed: a sanity-check on the raw value of my land, and options for developing or selling it when I was ready to do so. I must say, too, that he did this without any immediate prospect of return, trusting that the good information he was giving me would incline me to turn to him when I'm ready to sell the land. I am very grateful for his quick, well-thought-out analysis, and I will surely remember this when I am ready to take further action.”
